So for those of you who dont know, Matt was laid off in November, actually less then 90 days after his company moved us out here to Austin, is when it happened. Matt was able to negotiate a pretty good severance package, we totally understand corporate restructuring but I mean, they JUST moved us! So we have had a GREAT 4 month vacation! (What am I going to do when he goes back to work?!?) But now we are on the search!

So if anyone out there has any connections, we would love it!

We have been thinking alot about where we want to live. Obviously we would go where ever a job would be and Austin is a great and a great place to be unemployed. We would love Dallas, but we really really miss California. So we feel totally torn!

On a totally different note, This s what we have been dealing with lately...

A Quade with attitude. He has totally hit the independent phase, really already? He wont even let us feed him, he like to do it by himself, which equals mess!

Poor Dexter has been sick. He had a fever for 2 days and now he has totally lost his voice. He is getting better but man that lost voice is the cutest thing ever!

Quade is amazing! I cant believe that he is one. He is definitely opinionated! He is starting to talk, Mama, Dada, ball, more, fall, whoa, uh oh and is saying more everyday. He love books and cars!

Dexter and Quade totally crack us up these days! Dex loves Quade and I am sure Quade loves him too but he really would rather do his own thing. Dex often asks for "Quade come too..." Like if we are going down the slide or playing at a play place or something. Most of the time Quade is down but there is the occasional time where he is not interested and screams when Dex grabs his hand to come along. So cute! We decided it was time for these two monsters to share a room! They got the hang of it real fast, for the going to bed part but the mornings were really brutal for about 2 weeks. Our days were starting at 6:30, ouch! Now we are back to the 6:30pm bed time and they get up about 8am. Please neer change!!! I think they love sharing, We love it. When they wake up they just sit and talk to each other or jump on their beds, till we get in there. Or if Dex goes down before Quade, he always asks where he is. I love them! Plus when they first started sharing, at like 4am, we will hear dex, who had woken up for a sec and see Quade sleeping there and start talking to him. "Quade... Hi Quade...Quade...Quade... Hi Quade..." Thankfully he doesn't wake him up and just dozes back off. Oh brotherly love!

Happy birthday baby boy! Quade is such a gift. He smiles and laughs at everything and has the sweetest personality. He loves to walk and is most definitely a mover and shaker! He has mastered the stairs, well 90% of the time. He is so tall. Has 1 molar. When he gets mad, he screams at the world, it is so funny, he is literally telling you off in baby jabber. Dexter loves him to pieces. We love him SO much and he is a great brother!

We love you so much Quade and are so blessed to have you in our family!

I just have to post this, then I will get to the Christmas post.

I have been thinking alot lately.
A friend of mine just had her 4 week old babe pass away from SIDS. I can hardly believe it. I know all about it, as a new mother it is the thing that you are most terrified of, but I have never known anyone to actually suffer from it. We were pretty paranoid about it with both boys but I just cant believe it is real. I mean, seriously, I cant believe that it still exists. I cant even imagine what she is going through or her pain. Please, I cant even think of it.
So, I have been thinking about how the miracle of life, is truly a miracle. The whole process is unbelievable and I dont really feel like I have been through it twice. It feel so surreal.

Like: Wow was I really that huge?

And how did they know that this was the moment to start breathing?

And they are this perfect being....

And I cant believe how blessed we are to have Dexter and Quade, happy, healthy and here with us. That we have the opportunity to raise these sweet spirits. They each bless our lives in so many different ways. It is amazing to me.

Bounce Back...

So I totally failed to blog about my Roommate Reunion! It was SO much fun! I cant believe that we were ever freshmen... Lets bounce back to the beginning of November. I took Quade with me and Dex stayed with Matt. We all flew to Brittany's house in Ohio. These are the gals.

Quade and this little pup bonded. It was a love/hate relationship.

It was so funnny, instead of rocking out to loud music in the car like we were known for... we were all singing nursery hymns to keep the babes happy in the car. Wow, how times have changed.

Ohio is beautiful. We went to German town, talk about beautiful architecture! And ate at Schmidt's Sausage House.... other then poor Ellie getting fermented orange juice, it was delicious.

It was cold! we had these babes all bundled up.

Beth and I are the only 2 with babes so far, so Ellie and Quade we besties by the time the weekend was over.

Amanda and Quade had a few great moments. Hopefully this got her womb ticking,

Us at the airport. Where we were delayed for forever. Quade was awful on the flight! In his defense he did break 4 teeth while we were there (had no idea till the last day) but oh man was he bad. My arms were so sore the next day from holding that squirly child.

Oh dont worry, we were not the only one that had an adventure that weekend. Matt and Dex stayed in dallas with my family and had their own fun! That included lots of feeding the birds.

Lots of golfing. I am pretty sure they know Dex by name at the PGA Super Store.

And a trip to the rodeo. What, they went with out me? Dex was in love. They had free pony rides, so yes, he rode them 5, count them FIVE times.

Plus he caught a chicken at the petting zoo. Matt said the look on his face was priceless, he could not believe he actually caught it. The chicken let out a loud squawk and dex dropped it, then went chasing right after it to pick it up again.

Oh that face... Well our little Quade is a little sick right now and it breaks my heart! As I was sitting with him in the hot steam to help his cough and breathing, sweating, I was just thinking how this year had sped by. Where have I been? I feel like I blinked and now this little guy is almost one. Quade is almost ONE!

Quade has said his first word. Whoa. What does it say about us, when both of our kids first word was WHOA. Yikes, I thought we really cut down on that word. His little face is so cute when he says it! He also knows what a doggie says. How to clap. How to wave. He is so close to being a full time walker. He still only takes 4-5 steps at a time but walks everywhere as long as he can hold on to something. Plus his hair is getting so long! He just picks up on things so fast, we can hardly keep up!

We hope our little Quade feels better soon!

Trip to Utah.

So we took a last min trip to Utah. We decided to drive and let me tell you how much fun that was... It actually was pretty fun. The boys did better then we though, but not great... and Matt and I listened to the hunger games, which was really fun. We did hit a snow storm in Albuquerque which was not fun, but Dexter loved it. I think Quade just thought was cold. We had so much fun hanging out with family and running around our old stomping grounds.

Then we went to Temple Square on probably the coldest night we were there.

We are so glad that Kent and Liz were about to come with us! We heart the Lyons.

We took a break from the cold and went into the Visitors Center. When Dexter saw the Christus, he goes " Wow big Jees." Meaning, big Jesus. We were dying laughing! He was also obsessed with riding the horses (actually the life sized wise men riding camels) We has to tell dex they were really mean to get him to let the idea go.

The walk back to the car was pretty funny, Dex kept dropping cow or fake falling, he thought it was so funny.

And we saw real life Reindeer!

Dexter's Second Birthday!

We had a party when we where in Dallas for Thanksgiving. And it was a success. We had one happy boy! It was great to have everyone in my family there, we did miss Uncle Ryan, that is forsure.

I still cant believe that Dexter is 2 years old! Wow! We sang and had homemade ice cream sandwiches and when it was time to blow out the candles, Dex was more interested in touching it then blowing them out... oh well, no burns! He was so excited to get presents this year, it was so stinkin cute! This boy is such a light in our life.

And then it was time to open presents!

Are you kidding me? Look at that face, he is the cutest and was so excited!

And then came along Buzz and the whole crew! Dex was beside himself with joy!

Dexter is amazing! We cant believe our little man is TWO. Have we really been parents for 2 whole years? He cracks us up everyday. Dex truly has the most tender heart and has the sweetest smile and man those baby blues.... He for sure has a stubborn streak, big time. But we love him and at the same time it is frustrating, I am so glad that he is forming his own opinions.
His stats right now: 36 inches tall and 31 pounds.
Dex is quite the talker. He still mostly says the first syllables of words but he is saying sentences and it is so darling to hear him expressing his thoughts. And the things that occupy those thoughts these days.. there are basically 4 things he thinks about ALLl day long; "Out side" (Basically the first thing he says when we go get him our of his crib.), "Throw rocks", "Color", and "Hit the ball." We hear those 4 phrases all day long!
Some of his other fave phrases, "Put right here." "I hold." IF you say no to him he immediately signs and says "please" in hopes for a different answer. Any talk of bed time results in, "Just one show." "Just 2 books." love this kid!
There are a few things that we are working on like, only throwing balls not other objects (we will work on the details of ball throwing after we get that down.) Thanks to Buzz Light Year, Dex will get up on things, throw his arms out at say "Fly" then jump at you, if you are ready or not. So we are working on making sure the other person is ready before jumping. Awesome. And watching out for Quade, like if Quade is in the way, we dont just step on him to get around, and watching out for his fingers.
He is a sweet older brother! Dex gets so excited when he hears or sees Quade and helps alot, he really like to feed him. They are so funny when they are together. My big phrase these days is "Brothers dont fight. " So far it is working, we will see about the future. I just feel like, what ever crazyness they get into, as long as its together and in friendship, I can probably handle it. (knock on wood)
Dex is amazing at a lot of things but he is really great at being a dare devil, he is not scared of anything. Which totally scares me, especially hearing the stupid things that Matt did growing up. I dont know how they get the ideas to try the stuff they did. Dex also likes to try new things, which we love!
Dexter is the love of my life. Well, actually all 3 of my boys are... I just cant explain the joy, excitement, frustration, laughter, adventures, exhaustion, and happiness, that these 2 little guys bring to our life. We cant wait to watch them grow!
And Dexter, the boy who made me a mother, made us parents, is a fearless and compassionate child with a serious joy for life and we love him so much, We cant believe he is ours!

I love fall!

Not only is fall the time of year where it finally starts to cool of around here but it also means HOLIDAYS! Which is always fun and as the kids get bigger and start to understand more they are even more magical.

Halloween was a blast this year! This is the first holiday that Dexter really grasped the concept. How hard is this, I say a phrase and get candy! Once he got that, we were on our way, and when we would try to stop he would look at us and say "more candy." We were really surprised with his stamina, our kids are in bed by about 630pm, so i was a little worried about a melt down along the way from someone, but they did great and were full of energy, it was the crazy tired energy but they were so much fun!

Trunk or Treat was so much fun! Dex was a little grump and didnt really want to wear his costume but we did get him in it for a little bit. Everyone had fun!

Well Dex had blood around his mouth like a shark bite, but then it just looked like he ate red candy...

This was right before our little shark and bat headed out to trick or treat. It is so funny how the kid just comes out in you sometimes, Matt and I found ourselves needing to hit every house, it was pretty funny.

The best part was when Dex decided he needed to have a pit stop and after retrieving the candy from this house he just sat right down and started digging in his bag. I guess he needed a little pick me up.

This guy was basically along for the ride and to look cute. Quade had fun experiencing it all and we even took him up to a couple houses, which made us feel silly because it was kinda like we were trick or treating, but Quade sure is a stud!

And we were done! We did like 3 streets and it was a good thing we brought their ride because they we tuckered out

Then everyone reconvened at Grandma and Grandpa's to check out the loot. Maddison and James were so stinken adorable! Grandma gave toys this year instead of candy to the kids, they were both a hit!

Here are all our trick or treaters! They are all SO cute!

Quade got his first sucker! LOVED it, of course and when we took it away to see what he would do, he looked at us like "Why would you do that?" and then screamed. It was so funny to watch him devour that thing.

So we actually carved a pumpkin this year! Actually it was the first time that we have done this in our marriage, it is just such an awful mess! But with that aside, everyone had a blast! Dex was not into touching the goo and slime, me either, but he had lots of fun!

The best part about the pumpkin carving was the end product, Jack-o-Lantern with fire. The fire was a major hit.

Our little man, Quade, took his first step today. It was only one and is getting better and better at standing. I can't believe how big he is! We can't get enough of him. Quade is such a sweet spirit and that smile gets me every time.

The Roger's Wedding!

One of Matt's best buddies, Nate, got married and we are so excited for them! So in honor of them we made a whirl wind trip to California. We had a great time at the wedding. A big thanks to Brad and Shari for letting us stay with them, we had so much fun hanging out with you guys and meeting the new guy! Plus thanks to Todd and Brad and Shari for all the babysitting, we really appreciated being able to be at the wedding with no crazy kids. We also had a lot of fun visiting friends! We even got a chance to meet up with Matt and Belize for a midnight excursion, we had a blast the whole weekend. Minus the fact that a 2 hour time change for kids, for just a weekend, it a little too much!

Nicole was basically my date for the wedding since our husbands were occupied by actually being in the wedding.

We even had time to hit up our favorite pumpkin patch with friends.

The hay is always the most fascinating part at this age.

Dexter loved the pony ride but he was even more excited that Eve was behind him.

We went for a quick beach visit and as you can tell, Quade is not too sure about the sand!

The flight home was so much better since we were all together! (We each took one on the way there.)

They let us bring Quade's car seat which was soooo much easier! but it also was heavy!

We miss California but we were excited to get home!

For some reason this is a hard transition for our little guy. Every night he gets all excited to get in big bed and say prayers and read stories and sing a song, then the min we get up to leave he flips out! Poor kid. We are even thinking of taking back this choice and going with the crib tent... I hate seeing this little guy all sad and stressed out. Maybe it is to much freedom for him, maybe he still needs the security of a crib.... All I know is my champion sleeper, takes one sometimes two naps a day, in bed by 630 sleeper, is gone. I want him back! Plus dex is totally feeling the sleep depravation too. (us included)

Ok ok it has only been 5 days but tonight was extra sad. And tonight I am feeling extra bad for him, can you tell?

But he sure is adorable in that great big bed!

Neglect...

I feel like there is something that I am always neglecting! I am hopefully not neglecting my boys (All 3) which is why I feel like I am neglecting everything else. It is either my house and the deep cleaning that it is in major need of. Or the dishes. Or the laundry, I am sure Matt is wondering when the garment fairy is going to come again. Or all the deep cleaning of anything that the boys touch. Or the packing up of all the stuff the boys are out growing ALREADY. Or the unpacking that still needs to be done. Or the cars, oh man the cars, with all the crayon on the windows, or the grocery shopping. Or this blog... Dang this list could go on and on and on...

But how could I neglect to inform everyone of Dexter's haircut! We did it for 2 reasons really: 1: It is hot and he sweats. 2: Quade loves to grab hair and Dex's blonde locks got it pretty bad.

I feel like that is our life lately! I was in southern California for work, then came home for a few days, then came back to southern California for a beautiful wedding and some family and friends time. And now I am headed to San Francisco for work again... Not to mention Matt's trips for work! I am so ready for things to slow down! I think Matt and the kids are too! But here comes the holiday hustle and bustle, but we are SO excited about that!!!

So since we have been here, this is a little of what has been going on...

The movers dropped half a bookcase on Quade and I, from the stairs.
You cant tell but that cut is about the size of a golf ball!

Enjoying baths with out shower doors! So nice to not have that dumb rail!

Uncle Brad came to visit! He helped Matt drive our other car back, Thanks Brad!!

We went and saw the bats. It was crazy! 1.5 million bats fly out from under this bridge downtown at dusk. One accidentally hit the pole right next to us and fell on the ground but got right back up and flew off.

Dex got his first Golf clubs. He loves them and so does Quade. They are both actually really really good at hitting the ball, Quade especially.

We also went to Dallas got Labor Day weekend. So much fun! Dex and James were entertaining each other while the sisters and I were doing a little consignment shopping.

And one night in Dallas i sent Matt to get some of Dexter's energy out and they ended up at Sports Authority.... More fun for Matt or Dexter... Who knows.

We are trying a little potty training. Dex does great every time we try for a few hours, I am just not sure if i am ready to make the commitment... yikes that is a lot of work.

Hey! I am updating from my phone! Nice! Ok so I am in California right now for work and am having so much fun!

It's no big deal, I drifted a Ferrari today :) The Ferrari road rally from Palm Spring to Santa barbara, starts tomorrow! Watch for us on PCH, we will be in a train of 11 Ferraris, 458's and California's.

Definitely miss my boys though.

Well with the move, I forgot to post about Quade's 6 month apt.
Quadester is 19 lbs. and 29 inches tall. So in other words huge! And he is perfectly healthy.

This boy always has a twinkle in his eye. We just love him. I cant believe that he is almost 8 months old! What has happened to the baby that I was shielding from his older brothers rough love? The other day Dex wanted the toy Quade had. (typical) So I went in to give the toy back to quade and talk to Dex for the 100th time about sharing but no need, Quade held on and yanked that toy right back. Dex just looked at him and went on to the next thing.

Now Quade sits up, pulls up, babbles alot, plays with Dex, totally has an opinion. Love it!

Quade loves to swim but only for about 20 min then he is tuckered out.

He has not been into solid food till recently (like 7 1/2 months) and then it was all down hill from there.

What is it about when a baby decides to sleep on their stomach, that makes them seem so big?

This is what Quade looks like when he wants to be held, he just sticks his arms out, not even up toward you, just out.

Ok, when we first had 2 kids, I thought "What is all the fuss about, this is no big deal" And untill now, that is really how I have felt. I mean, we are tired all the time, really all the time! But it was still not that big of a deal... But now that both of these boys are completely mobile and Dex has hit the "I do it" phase, we are starting to feel the pain :) We probably are in for a crazy ride. Atleast they play well together, for now!

California Dreamin

We are really missing California these days. The consensus is still out on how we feel about Austin.... But we still have a lot of settling in to do. Plus we still have so much unpacking to do! Then we will decide!

We had met some really great friends in Irvine an oh man, do we miss our friends. We had sooo much fun with you guys!

Lots of yummy dinners!

Movies

Plus a Girls night that was fantastic! We ate delicious food, watched a movie, got pedicures, slept for a wonderful 12 hours with no interruptions, saw a museum, and ate more amazing food! it was a much needed night!

Matt's friends that he grew up with , threw us a going away party as well. It was so fun to see all his buddies b4 we left. I know he is going to miss them.

Of course, we had to go to an Angels game. Yeah for Big Bang Friday!

I am going miss these girls so much, (some are not in this picture) they have been such great friends! Plus Dex totally misses his friends! He has consistently asked for each of them. He still struggles with saying Olivia :) It makes me so sad when he asks for them, he has finally started dying down.

Oh man, we have had some AWESOME play dates!

Dex basically loves Eve. I am keeping these pictures on the off chance that the find eachother at BYU and really fall in love.

This dump truck was all what James wanted for Christmas. Well he got and it kinda freaked him out. (I can under stand, it belches and fart. Sick) When we went over to Kim's house, she showed it to Dexter and he LOVES it! So Kim let us take it to grandma's and as we are leaving James yells "Thanks for taking Stinky away." So funny! Well needless to Dex loves it and Quade does too! Thanks James.

Guys this wasp thing was HUGE and I love the fact that the first thing he said was "BEE!" and tried to grab it. Awesome.

Love these kids and Dexter does too! He loves playing with them and Dex absolutely.

We are moving to Austin! Matt got a promotion/relocation. We are really excited! But actually we are really sad too. It is definitely a bitter/sweet move! As we were looking for houses in the 100 degree weather, we were really, really hesitant and thought about not going at all... Then we found the most perfect house that is 1700 sqft, with 3 bedrooms and a bonus room, for a little over half our rent here.... then we felt better.

We are ALWAYS down for a new adventure!

Family Reunions!

We have had all kinds of family reunions going on! Lets start with Matts family in Utah. We had 32 Hansons in one house, it was quite the place to be. Unfortunately I forgot the camera alot of the time. Boo!

We went to the Tracy Aviary. It was really cool to see all the birds! Dex thought it was awesome for the show and the First 45 min, then he was done and ready for a nap.

I love quades face below it cracks me up.

Spent time playing with the hose. It didnt take Dex long to figure out how to use it!

Uncle Ryan came to visit from Montana! He joined in on the Hanson family fun and game marathon. We had so much fun with him and are glad he came down!

I finally got Ryan to hold Quade for a sec while i put my hair up. Ryan has a firm policy: No holding kids till they can control their bodily functions. He was waving Quade back and forth and Quade thought it was the funniest thing.

And Ryan took them on a crazy stroller ride. Aunts and Uncles are the best!

This was at the Hanson family reunion, Dex loves basketball.

Forth of July was so fun! Some idiot made ariels legal in Utah this year. As fun as they were, i was just waiting for an accident. Dex thought they were fascinating as long as they kept going...and Quade slept.

Finally the day we left we realized we had not taken very many pics, so we quickly grabbed a few.

Wow it was a whirl wind of a month! So here is an update on June! I cant believe that another month has come and gone! These boys are growing up tooo fast!

Lets start with the Tim McGraw concert! Matt surprised me with tickets (I had been dropping some major hints) We had so much fun! Matt is such a stud, he knew maybe 2 songs (he is not such a country fan) and was a little embarrassed that I sang along with every song! One of the best things about the night, my friend Belize watched the kids, so we didnt have to worry about them at all and I could just enjoy Tim in tight jeans :)

That right, look out those beautiful Cowboy boots! Matt loves them. Not, he likes them best in the garage but this seemed like a worthy occasion.

We had a blast and I think that Tim Mcgraw was even better live!

I think we have a problem... Quade had just gotten out of the bath so his hair was extra poofy but man, that back hair ALWAYS sticks straight up! Good thing he is so dang cute!

Dexter also had his 18 month check up. He is one growing boy!

Dex weighs 28.8 lbs. and he is 33 inches tall. And dex is talking more and more every day. He is defiantly keeping us on our toes, to say the least!

Quade just makes me smile all day long, for 2 days straight he had his little tongue sticking out just like this. It totally cracked us up!

This kid is a boob snob! Wont eat anything unless it is from my person and will only take a bottle from Matt. Cool. This was an attempt at rice cereal...

Sunday best.

Out with the old and in with the new! We finally found a new cow on line (Thank you Aunt Chris) We ordered one asap. Actually we are keeping both so if we loose one, we are still ok.

Dex successfully finished his first set of swim lessons! He is a blowing bubbles pro. This was his last day of class when they got to go down the water slide, he did great! Getting him switched into the swim diaper always was a problem, since the kid would rather be naked.

We did have one very horrible day! We started like this.

After a long clingy, grumpy morning. Dex had a nap and woke up for lunch that ended like this...

And after another nap the day turned out great with this sweet face! I am glad the crappy day did not last long!

We all heart the bouncer. Quade LOVES it ,since he would rather sit or stand then lay. But when I do lay him down he roles everywhere, we are now mobile! And Dex acts like this is a brand new toy. He loves that he can climd in and out all by himself.

So at about 9:30 pm on Saturday May 28 we made a impulsive decision to go to Vegas and meet up with some besties from Utah. Can you believe that we moved alomost a year ago? Which means that it has almost been a year since we have seen Kent and Liz.

A little history on these two: I met Liz when we were both working at Happy Sumo like 4 years ago. Matt knew Kent from some other friends. When I met Matt and told Liz about him, she totally knew him from her husband, and had met him one time when they were playing tennis and commented to Kent that "That guy is wearing some short shorts." Ha ha sounds like Matt. Anyways it is fun to have couple friends that were all friends before we knew each other. I feel like liz has watched me grow up, she has been my friend since b4 I met Matt, we got married, had babies, its crazy!

So this trip was long over due! Too bad Vegas is so nasty bc it has some really cool things to offer. We drove out Sunday afternoon and checked in at the Venetian at about 3. We met up with Kent and Liz and introduced them to Quade and showed off some of Dex's new tricks. Then went to dinner at the Grand Lux, yumm. And we set out to walk the strip to see the new hotels and the fountains and the volcano. It was so much fun, needless to say that the boys were totally tuckered out. So we put them down and then headed next door to hang out with Kent and Liz (Dont worry we had a monitor.) It was so fun to hang out with them. It got late and everyone went down to do a little gambling. I suck at blackjack so I stayed with the kiddies. So Liz and I hit up the pool kind of early the next morning, and everyone met up with us later. We hung out there all afternoon. Dex was in love with that pool and Quade went swimming for the first time. Then came the lions, which dex loved! After that we took off. It was a whirlwind of a trip but TOTALLY worth it!

We have been busy busy, that is for sure! First off, look at this picture! Are you kidding me? Everyone was all nice and quiet in the back seat. When does that ever happen? Oh right, when they are being the best brothers ever and holding hands! Melt my heart.

So lets talk about Quade! This kid is amazing! We just had his 4 month check up, yesterday. Quade's Stats: Height: 28 inches, Weight 16.10 lbs.

So basically he is a giant. He is an inch and a half taller then Dex was at this age and a pound and a half skinnier. The doc. had lots of good news for us, his neck is doing great! He still favores one side, just a little but he is doing great and his head shape is great as well. (I was totally worried he would need a helmet, hello, he has to be able to buzz his head if he wants.)

So that means we dont have to go to physical therapy which is a huge stress relief for me!

The doc also said that Quade is the size of a 6 month old so if we want to start on rice cereal and get solids going, we can. What my baby is ready to start rice cereal? No way!

Quade is such a charmer! He smiles at anything and he laughs at everything! He coos and aws all day long. I cant believe what a laid back child he is. He has forsure out grown his bassinet but since dex is cutting all 4 K9s right now, I am not feeling the need to get them both in the same room. So Quade is on a pallet, on the floor in the living room. Nice. Quade is not the best at putting himself to sleep but other then that he is sleeping like a champ!

We love him, he is such a joy to be around!

Oh man, the life of Dexter is grand, let me tell you! Well minus today, this little guy went to bed at 5:30 today, all 4 of his k9s are coming in, poor kid, but 2 have finally poked through so 2 more to go. Other then that we spend most of our days at the pool, Dex is a swim lessons pro. OR we are partying at the park. He is so fun to watch, I cant get enough of this kid. He walks around mumbling all day long and he likes to read books out loud.

Some of Dex's best buds, teaching him how to play cars, he had more fun throwing it over the edge but he will get in one day soon.

This kid cracks me up! When ever he gets excited he makes this face says "Whoa" and waves his hands in the air. I love how animated he is. This particular moment was when a bird few by, Dex loves Birds!

This was a sad day, he took a tumble and landed face first. Dont worry, he barely cried, he was more worried about getting the ball.

That is right, Bring on the potty! He loves it and we have had a few successful moments, I am not sure if it is the candy he gets for his efforts or the books but it is always fun.

Chris and Jonathan are back! After and long stay over seas they are finally back and they are back with a plus 1! Chris was able to come to California and stay with us for a few days. Those 2 days were also a time when Matt was out of town, so she helped out alot!

One time when I handed her Quade to hold, she said "Uh, is he dirty?" Oh how I love you Chris and cant wait for your baby to spit up all over you!

Chris finally got to meet the boys!

I cant wait to meet this little girl, she is going to have the best mom ever. And I cant wait to spend more time with Chris and Jonathan in July!

3 months! Wow, we love this kid! He is so sweet and such a cuddler! Quade rolled over twice yesterday, what already?! But has not done it since, so maybe it was just a fluke... His smile melts my heart and I cant believe we have two of the greatest boys ever!

This has been the favorite thing to do. He just cant get enough of those hands and fingers in his mouth!

Quade even does a great job tolerating Dexter's tough love. When I asked Dexter to help me give Quade a bath, he got so excited and then continued to push me out of the way so that he could poor the water over Quade, too cute!

Easter

Happy Easter! This was such a fun year because Dex actually knew what was going on. He had a blast looking for eggs, well actually once he found out there was candy inside he was done, all he wanted to do was eat it. Dex got some new cars, first Pez, and a Curious George. So much fun!

Oh boy do we love Curious George around here!! When it is time to watch tv, dex will keep bringing you the remote untill you change it to George, he cant get enough of that curious little monkey. Needless to say he loves his new stuffed animal.

So we went to the San Diego Zoo for the first time with the boys. Dex was in love. We had a 12 hour day and he slept for about 45 min, if that, he had a great time and could not get enough. Turns out he LOVE birds! Quade was a total champ and was just along for the ride.

Dex is pretty cuddly in the morning and decided to give Quade a nice little body slam.

So summer has started! We went to the splash park for the first time this year. It was still a little chilly and it didnt take long b4 Dexter's teeth were chattering but he had so much fun! This summer is going to be awesome! We start swim lessons in May.

Quade is so big! He started laughing about 2 weeks ago. It is the sweetest sound. A video is to come. This kid smiles for anything, I just love him so much!

Ok so the boys are sleeping in the same room now. At least, we start out that way, at about 4 am Quade is in the bassinets because we are to lazy to take him back in there. It has been going great and when Quade wakes up to eat, Dex doesn't even move. (so far) Accept for the night that Matt and I were SO tired that by the time we woke up to noise, both boys were screaming. Oops.

Anyways, so they are in the same room. Why is it that I totally feel left out? What? Its like they are in there partying or something. No, they are just sleeping, I absolutely should not be feeling like this. So After feeling like I was not invited to the party, for 3 nights now, I finally looked at Matt and said "I totally feel left out" and Matt was feeling the same way! It made me feel better! But then Quade wakes up to nurse and I cant even move because I am so tired, I remember that it just might be ok to be left out!

Oh and 2 years ago today, at about this time, we found out we were pregnant with Dex. And Matt was on him way to get a pregnancy test with words so there would be no mistakes!

Big Night

Its a big night around here! We got the boys room finally put together with both cribs all situated. We had Quade's crib in the living room while we tested him in it and he always did great for his long stretch of the night.

Not only is Quade in his crib tonight but both boys are sleeping in the same room! We will see how it goes, I am sure that for the first stretch of the night they will be fine (They have been great so far and it is 11pm) After that Quade may end up back in the swing or bassinet. But we are well on our way to sharing a room.

Matt and I actually were feeling a little sad tonight when we finally made the decision to put Quade in there. Is he really that old? He just doesnt feel like a new born any more. I guess that feeling never lasts long when you have such big babies to start with. Time really does fly and we cant believe how much we love Quade.

Dex insisted on holding Quade while he was watching Curious George. Every time I picked up Quade, Dex signed more it was sooo cute.

We had an issue at Nordstrom. We ended up spending way too long at the mall the other day. Dex totally peed out his diaper. We felt like such bad parents for not realizing how long we had been out and about. So when I was doing the emergency diaper changed he peed all over the Nordstrom fitting room bench. I had to use his, already peed on shirt, to clean up the pee on the bench. So he was topless, in Nordstrom, till we could buy a new shirt.

P.S. to my previous post: We were walking around the mall the other day and while we were at Crate and Barrel, Matt and I finally looked at each other and said "Why is everyone looking at us?!" And we looked down and Dexter was sitting there waving at everyone passing by. Oh man, we love him!

A Friendly One Year Old.

Oh man! Dexter has no fear of strangers! It doesn't matter who you are or if you even like kids, Dex will find a way to get you to engage with him! He has realized that if he waves or blows kisses at complete strangers that they will give him attention. Lots of attention. It makes running errands interesting. We get stopped a lot for the unsuspecting stranger to respond to Dexter's air kiss. It usually goes like this "Oh thank you, how cute, look at those cheeks." Then they see Quade and say "Wow you have your hands full." Yeah, I know and literally, I have my hands full so lets get a move on. And then on to the next one.

So when we leave the house this is usually what we look like. Dex is a great walker/runner and that is why i still have to hold him quite a bit. He gets very distracted with flowers, dirt and basically anything that we pass. It makes walking to the car a 10+ min activity. So we go 2 at a time.

Does this picture say desperation or what? I must look pretty pathetic because i have had 3 neighbors (who i don't know, including an 80 year old woman who didn't speak english) help me down the stairs and to my car. It makes for some interesting conversation. I love Quade's face in this picture.

Life is busy that is forsure!

I feel like the Boys are both growing and getting bigger every minute! Dexter is on the verge of talking, I cant believe it! Wow, was his first word. I guess we must say that one alot. He is still signing more, please and milk. But he is starting to put sounds with them. Now when he signs more and says "Mo." I just cant believe how much he is growing and changing. You think with all he understands these days that he would get NO but we are still working on that one.

Dex is totally fascinated with Quade. He likes to sit next to him, sometimes on him and he gets this big cheesy grin. We were all playing "This little piggy" one of Dex's Favorites and instead of wanting me to do it to him, he just wanted me to help me do it to Quade. So cute.

Quade is such an easy baby. Man that kid loves to be held, which was fun at first (dex is not a cuddler) but now it getting a little excessive. Oh man, his smile is adorable! We are working really hard with his neck but I am thinking we will need physical therapy but we will see. We are starting sleep training as soon as we get his crib (next week) so hopefully we will ALL be getting quality sleep soon!

This was Matt and I's conversation in the middle of the night the other night.

S: what is that?Is that your pillow?

M: What?

S: You are on my side.

M: No you are on my side of the bed.

S:No look at your stupid knee pillow, it is on my side of the bed.

M:Look at your feet they are on my side.

S:I am sooo tired, We need a king sized bed!

M: yeah but not now

S: Then get off my side of the bed.

M: You are on my side.

I have ben campaigning for a king for a long time, I just need Matt to spring for it.... how many more of these late night spats do we need?

Geese getting Quades burps out is hard work, it takes everyones help.

My best friends Lindsey Beck came in town for a few days. They spent the first few days at Disney Land and then we took them to Balboa Island. It was sooo fun to see her. Dex loves strangers. The first time he saw her, he walked out of his room and Linds goes "Hi dex, can I have a hug?" and he jumped into her arms with no hesitation. It was pretty funny!

Plus it was a fun date night for us too.

Ok so here are Dexter's 2 loves: Betty (the pacifier) and Cow. There will be no naps or sleeping of any kind with out them. We try to only let him have them for sleeping occasions. But when ever he is not feeling well these are necessities to get through the day!

On St. Patrick's Day, Sprinkles had there green velvet cupcakes, so some friends and I decided it was a great occasion to partake. And boy were they delicious!

We went with some friends to Downtown Disney for the night and had some delicious dinner. Quade slept the whole time and Dex had lots of energy! Who knew bubbles (as Dex says it "bub") and fountains could be so awesome?! We all had a blast! Here are some pics from the grand event, taken by Belize

Wow is Quade such a little man! Today was his 6 week check up and he is one healthy big boy! Weighing in at 13 pounds and 24 inches long. Both 95% and his head is 65% What a big boy! We did have one bit of bad news...Quade has a little case of Torticallis. The doc wanted to send us to physical therapy but because we had this issue with Dex (but worse) we know how to do all the stretches and stuff so the doc said that we have 3 weeks to work with him at home and if there is not an improvement then we will need to go to physical therapy. But other then that he is doing absolutely great and we love those chunky rolls!

Quade's blessing was so great! We had lots of family here with us to enjoy the moment. Also thanks to skype, all the Utah Family was able to join us as well!

Dex is really good at finding noses these days!

Yeah this looks painful but there was not actual collision. Dex was trying to give Quade a headbutt. We decided we play kinda rough with dex, which he loves but how do you teach a 1 year old discretion? :)

We are not sure why but dex loves to rub quades head and when we are yelling "SOFT" he puts his hand like "Why?" I love quade's face in this picture he is like, "Really"

The Joys of Grandma.

And the amazing books that she brings. Grandma came with lots of new books for new entertainment (and desperate moments) But this is one of his favs. Dex can hardly pic it up but he loves to carry it around the house.

So I guess that last post sounded a little sad, but I am so NOT sad! Life is so great these days. A little sleep deprived but what else in new :) I was just saying that I loved my parents being here and I love texas and my mind is always busy busy.

Today I had to laugh as I lined up both boys to get their poopy diapers changed. yuck. I love these guys. Dex is such a sweet boy. Whenever Quade cries he looks very concerned. Still no words on his part other then momma and dadda but he is starting to get syllables.

And one of the back seat seatbelts in broken, we thought we had it fixed but i took a turn the other day and Quade's carseat fell totally sideways. Don't worry he did not even wake up. So the boys sit really close back there. Middle and side seat. I have to make sure that Dex doesn't have any toys that can be thrown at Quade in attempts to "share." But the other day I looked back there and Dex was holding his hand! I love them!

Quade loves to cuddle and is such a great baby. He is giving us a 5 hour stretch at least once a night but it still seems too short... We love his blonde hair and we can't wait to see what those eyes turn out to be. He really has the sweetest cry. We couldn't ask for a better addition.

Just a few thoughts...

So we have been sick, really sick around here. Matt had this weird cough cold thing for like 3 weeks. (He probably would have been better, faster but he chose to play basketball in the middle of the worst part of his cold.) Then Dex got croop, that was cool. And now I have Matt's wonderful cold cough thing. But on the plus side, Quade is doing great.

My mom left on Thursday. I wish that she could have stayed. Well if I am wishing for something, I wish that we were in Texas. The adjustment from 1 kid, to 2 kids, has actually been no a big deal. I am more adjusting to being alone with the kids all day. I have had my mom to hang out with all day, it has been so nice having a live in best friend, who loves your kids just as much as you do, to be around all day. Needless to say I was very very sad to see her go! (And not just because she has been the glue around here lately.)

So here goes my ADD moment of the night. Here are just a few thoughts that has flown through my mind tonight:

I love 7pm. Matt and I veg out on the couch and watch tv. Sounds lame but is actually great.

Matt has been promising to take me dancing for EVER! It is now time to cash in.

Holy cow, we go through a ton of diapers.

Remember puckett? Well every time I see a humane society commercial, I feel guilty. (One just came on)

I want to start Wink (the lash business) again but do I have time between the boys and hanging out with matt? Not so much.

Cant wait to get the the next disk of breaking bad.

My sister Chris is finally coming home and I get to see her in 2 months!

Nursing has not been my favorite thing this time around. With Dex i enjoyed it, well for about 6 months. But i am already feeling done this time. (Dont worry I am going to stick with it.)

Matt is the best husband.

I have got to find a way to get on Ellen.

Why am I still hot ALL the time?

And that is why I take a sleeping pill at night or I would never wind down to sleep.

Oh one more thought... Matt- Tim McGraw is coming to CA in June...I Really want to go. Hint hint. Wink Wink.

Ok so on another side note... We love dexter's long blonde locks. But his bangs were getting a little long. Becca only if we lived in the same state! So I went to give them a trim. (Which I have done before, no big deal) Yeah, I got a little carried away. Soooo we had to cut off all his hair to make his way too short bangs, blend in. Matt was pretty upset.

Mmm he is so yummy!

This is our little man at 2 weeks. Quade is such a great baby, but he is getting evicted from our bedroom. He is way too loud of a sleeper! We have never had babes in our room and we tried it... and now he is getting the boot. But we love you Quade.

Yes, he looks so innocent but he has pooped on Matt twice and somehow it has gotten all over the carpet twice, forcing us to get our carpets cleaned! Cool. But do you guys remember dex's door blow out? yeah that still cant be beat.

Grandma is the favorite! I would say that Dex is giving her a run for her money! We can not thank my mom enough for all that she has been doing around here. Plus Thank you dad for sharing your wife for all this time!

I just have to say, those baby blue eyes that my little man has, just melt my heart!

So it has been a week and I can not tell you how much we love this little guy! Quade is such a fabulous baby! So far :) He really only cries when he has not burped enough after a meal. Let me tell you, he LOVES to eat! He has gained back his birth weight and 2 inches after just 4 days of being alive, the doc said I must have Hagen Das milk. Oh and Quade is such a lover, he is just so chill, just like his brother.

Dexter still is on cloud nine because grandma is still here but he loves this little guy! The first thing he does is give him a kiss and then pats his head, so cute. This morning Dex walked up to Matt, who had the baby and motioned that he wanted to see him, so matt leaned down so dex could kiss him, dex leaned in and then at the last second, stole Quade's pacifier instead. It was pretty funny! We are having so much fun with these guys!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Well today is Matt's birthday. I know, it has been a little over-shadowed with our up coming events. (baby tomorrow) But oh man, do I love this guy! He makes everyday exciting and I am so glad that I get to spend eternity with him. My mom came in town today (Yeah!) and she was able to watch dex for a little bit while Matt and I had a wonderful dinner at Red Lobster! We were thinking that we wanted to do a movie as well but we will have to continue the birthday celebration in a few weeks when we dont have a million things to do still. (Plus then I will be able to sit for longer then an hour w/o my ribs splitting in half)

Matt- I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I love you so much!

We are so ready to meet this little man! Tomorrow at 9am!
